Sorry to say this is indirect news. I read on Reese's CCB eagletrak blog and the NESTI Facebook page this evening, that HE was found dead on some base in Norfolk earlier today, possibly struck by a vehicle. I am so sorry for Dad Norfolk (and hope HE didn't suffer). Hopefully Reese will have the chance to write more info in one of his CCB blogs.

I'm going through a difficult time, personally, with the decline and loss of my father this fall. Haven't had the opportunity to be 'here'. Thank you to those of you who have visited and posted.

Thanks for the link. As far as I know, this is the first confirmed loss of a NBG offspring. I'm sad for the loss of HE, both for her and for Dad Norfolk. I hope Dad can find another mate...

It is sad news about HE. She a least was able to carry on her genes with her eaglet last year.
Dad Norfolk is already being courted or should I say the ladies are trying. There has already been a rather large female visiting him at the nest. There are also some ladies in the background trying to get his attention. Face it--he is a rather dapper male with lots of experience.

I am sure Dad Norfolk will attract the attention of the ladies! You saw how they flocked to him after Mom Norfolk died!

I did a blog post in memory of Bald Eagle HE. You can see it here: http://eaglesandnature.blogspot.com/201 ... le-he.html.
