The Wildlife Center of Virginia hosted another very special day for "Buddy" supporters and fans. As usual the staff made sure everyone had a thoroughy enjoyable as well as informative day. Thank you again for being such gracious hosts.

Ann, how wonderful your pictures and memories are. Thank you for posting them so quickly!!! You sure Dr. Dave didn't have that blue halo??? :D Travel's quilt is stunning!! I forgot to tell her how much it took my breath away. The recipient will be a very lucky person. Thank you again for a wonderful reminder of a wonderful, beautiful day. Julie

Great photos. Thanks for sharing them with those of us who couldn't make it. Can't wait to see the video.

Ann, thanks for posting these pics. It truly was a wonderful day; one that I won't soon forget. My thanks to all who made this day happen. I know I am grateful for the opportunity and I learned a lot from Ed Clark and Dr. Dave. It continues to amaze me what Buddy's ailment has done to bring so many people together. I personally thank all those who work and volunteer at WCV for their dedication and love.

Sue

What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful Fall day. It was perfect from beginning to end. Buddy Day was a tribute to a little eagle with a funny looking beak who captured our hearts and continues to inspire us everyday.

Thank you to all who made this day very special.

Marianne

Ann, thanks for posting your pictures of this really fun day. So many happy things to remember:

-The wonderfully friendly staff getting everyone signed in and their purchases rung up, setting up the room and the coffee and the lunch, watching carefully for recycle items tossed incorrectly, displaying donated items for the upcoming Gala auction (Travel's quilt !!!), helping with raffle, cleaning up, and answering questions, all the while going about their daily jobs
-Ed Clark's super informative and, of course, funny presentation
-Amanda's job promotion and her tear-jerker compilation of Buddy's life - loved the music choice
-Dr. Dave's struggle with the computer equipment
-Dr. Dave's amazing photos and explanations of Buddy's treatment
-Suzy's hysterically funny presentation of her "who's training who" relationship with Buddy
-Claire's new job and her interesting course in raptor training and her new Buddy-training strategy
-Dr. Dave's struggle with the computer equipment
-Dr. Dave's explanation, of potential plans, qualified loudly by Ed, for Buddy's new home
-CricketRenee pitching in to help Dr. Dave operate the computer
-Randy and Ed doing the door-prize drawings
-Seeing the generous fund-raising contributions: Sandi's new Buddy patches, Lex's Buddy bracelets, Moonstone's note cards, the Buddy mousepads (Buddy...mouse... isn't that just too appropriate?) (Who did those - whose photo is that - JR Deal's?) and of course, Congo's and friends' calendars.
-Congo and Jamie working the table displaying those items
-The delicious lunch - I could have eaten all of those goat cheese/caramelized pecan sandwiches
-Max's wonderful eagle-shaped cookies
-Dr. Dave's tour of the hospital
-Getting to see Buddy and all of his little. and not so little, friends
-Most of all, meeting, chatting with and sharing it all with such a great group of eagle supporters
-Saturday night's dinner with 18 friends (wish I had known it was Shelly's UN-birthday - I would have bought her a little NOTHING... )
-Missing all those that couldn't share this day with us.

This was my first visit WCV and it won't be my last (I hope). Thanks to everyone who made it happen!

Cary

Cary..you've summarized the day beautifully including Dr Dave's personal challenge with the projector Image

I do like Caroline's word to describe the entire day..it was Brilliant on so many levels. I'm really hoping some of the others will share their photos, too, tho! I saw so many cameras there. I didn't focus on taking pics so much since I was recording. C'mon folks....share!!

You shouldn't feel too bad about Shelly's UN-birthday, tho....I didn't take her anything either

And don't forget the "Drawing" - not to be confused with "Raffle" as Randy reminded us so often! The great prizes that lucky winners got - and Barb-Norf purchased extra tickets which proved to be the best strategy as she came away a big winner!

To sum it up, it was a 'WOW" DAY. Oh, and Ann, my "un-birthday" will never be forgotten - in more ways than one   ;)

Sounds like a wonderful day all in all. I can't veiw the pics from work but can't wait to get home and see them all. Sounds like lots of goodies and "stuff" and just a great gathering of eagle people.
