Well today is the day .... our girl goes free.
At this time she is enjoying the front porch for the last time. Hope to get a glimpse before the leave....
Can't wait to see all the photos and videos of the release. It has been a plesure to be a part of this again this year.... If we are lucky Dad will find a new lady and we will be able to do this again this nesting season.
Have a safe and happy rest of the year everyone....
L8RON,
Sheribeari

KS flies in and lands on ground under the swing.... followed by NX on the swing. NX gotes to the a-frame and the captures start. NX caught first.... KS heads for the front porch. Two hours and they will be free....... Looking forward to the tracking info on NX. Wouldn't it be KOOL if she, Cam and Azalea were all in the same place at the same time? Three generations of Siblings from Dad and Lady Legacy.
Will post links to photos and videos when I can.....
L8RON everyone! :D  :D

Aug 30 11:18 AM [Max] 12:07 Congowings: I have some more details concerning NX. Once released she flew off, but then u-turned and landed on the ground a distance away - and hid in some bushes. But when she saw Dr. Dave advancing she took off and gained altitude quickly - flying a bit over the water and the trees - landing near the river bank. She then took off and flew up into one of trees - where she still remained when everyone left. She did make some vocalizations at one point - but they were adult vocalizations, not juvenile distress sounds. So, it sounds like she is doing well. quote]

From newsletter from the Gardens:
Quote:
After the hurricane hit the Garden we have had many inquiries about the eagle nest and the male eagle. Here is the latest:
The male has been spotted since the storm.

All three trees that host nests are still standing and appear strong. The nest from last season appears to be in good shape. The photo on the right was taken yesterday.

Thank you, Sheri. It has been wonderful to read your posts and to keep up with the last one to leave home. This year has been quite the dramatic one with our eagle family. Your posts have been wonderful. See you next eagle season!

Sheri - thanks for all the posts this season. Without your posting daily, those of us who are at work and can't get the cam, wouldn't have been able to keep up - Take care, my friend!
